WNC Pizza Week Returns: 7 Days of Slices, Deals, & Dough-lightful Fun!

Asheville's favorite pizza celebration is back! Discover participating restaurants, specialty pies, and exclusive deals during the 2nd annual WNC Pizza Week.

Western North Carolina is gearing up for the 2nd annual WNC Pizza Week, a seven-day celebration expected to boost business for local pizzerias and support the area's culinary scene.

Organized by Stu Helm of Asheville Food Tours, the event runs from Feb. 9-15, 2026, and will feature specialty pies, exclusive deals, and events at participating restaurants throughout the region. The aim is to highlight Asheville's pizza culture, encouraging residents and visitors to explore local styles and flavors with limited-time offerings at special prices.

Key Events

The week kicks off with a launch party Feb. 9 from 5-9 p.m. at Soprana Rooftop Cucina, with proceeds benefiting Bounty & Soul. Another highlight is the Hot Slice Contest scheduled for Feb. 12 from 5-7 p.m. at Twisted Laurel in downtown Asheville. The contest will feature 12 celebrity contestants, including Asheville City Council member Maggie Ullman representing Riverlink, Fireman Alex Phelps representing 12 Baskets, and Nikki Harris representing Meals on Wheels, competing to eat spicy slices. Proceeds from the Hot Slice Contest will support Meals on Wheels, and the contestant who lasts the longest will win prizes. Other contestants include Sarah the WAXlorette representing Campaign For Southern Equality, Allen Brody representing BeLoved Asheville, Officer Robert Crume representing Brother Wolf Animal Rescue, Chef Rakim Gaines representing Hood Huggers, and one crowd-selected participant for MANNA FoodBank.

A long list of local pizzerias will participate, offering specialty pies and deals. Not all restaurants are creating exclusive pies for the event. Smokee’s Pizza, known for its wood-fired pies, is among the participating spots.

An interactive map and a complete list of participating restaurants can be found at stuhelmfoodfan.com. While one source lists the start date as Feb. 10, most confirm the kickoff on Feb. 9, which is National Pizza Day.

WNC Pizza Week is anticipated to drive business to local pizzerias, fostering a stronger culinary scene in Asheville and the surrounding areas. The event also incorporates charitable giving through events like the launch party and the Hot Slice Contest, further benefiting the community.
