Asheville -- The Asheville Tourists will transform HomeTrust Park into a hub of community appreciation tomorrow, Tuesday, May 5, 2026, for the fourth annual Travel and Hospitality Night. The evening, hosted in partnership with Explore Asheville, is dedicated to recognizing the workforce that serves as the backbone of Western North Carolina’s tourism economy.
The event comes at a poignant time for the region, specifically highlighting the resilience of service workers following the impacts of Tropical Storm Helene.
Celebrating "Heroes of Hospitality"
A central focus of the night will be the formal recognition of over 40 local service workers who have gone above and beyond in their roles. These Heroes of Hospitality represent various sectors, including lodging, dining, and outdoor recreation. Notable honorees include:
Elvira Sanchez: A housekeeping supervisor at the Grand Bohemian Lodge (reopening May 7), recognized for over two decades of dedication.
Katie Kasben: A concierge at The Inn on Biltmore Estate who assisted in feeding and caring for over 170 people during the storm.
Erin Cronin: Lead cook at Bear’s Smokehouse BBQ, who worked with World Central Kitchen to lead community relief efforts for six months.
Katherine "Kat" Bell: A bartender at Tall John’s who hiked miles into the city after the storm to distribute food to neighbors.
Ralford McIntosh: A banquet server at The Omni Grove Park Inn, honored for his quick action in saving a choking guest.
Game Day and Ticket Details
