Cataloochee Ski Area (Maggie Valley) New Lift, First to Open Cataloochee is often the first resort in the region to open. This season features a major upgrade aimed at improving skier flow and speed.
Projected Opening Date: November 28, 2025 (Subject to weather and snowmaking conditions).
Major Upgrade: The resort is installing a brand-new Doppelmayr Fixed-Grip Quad Chairlift to the summit, replacing the older Omigish double chairlift. This significantly increases capacity and reduces wait times.
