WNC Entertainment -- July 20, 2026: Looking for something to do this week? Western North Carolina offers plenty of entertainment from now through Thursday, with live music, theater, art exhibits and community events taking place across the mountains.
Buncombe County
Asheville continues to be the region's entertainment hub this week. Woody Wood & Abe Reid perform Monday at 6 p.m. at The Grey Eagle Music Hall & Pub, while Tuesday brings the AFTER HOURS Summer Concert Series featuring The Nature Boys from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Asheville Museum of History. Music lovers can also enjoy Music Bingo Tuesday evening at The Grey Eagle, along with numerous open mic nights, jazz performances and brewery concerts taking place throughout the city during the week.
Transylvania County
Brevard's celebrated summer music season continues with performances at the Brevard Music Center. BMC Chamber Voices performs Monday evening at 7:30 p.m. in Parker Concert Hall, followed Tuesday by the Brevard Symphonic Winds at 7:30 p.m. Both performances showcase nationally recognized musicians and rising young artists.
Henderson County
Hendersonville offers several scheduled midweek activities. Tuesday Night Team Trivia begins at 7 p.m. at Oklawaha Brewing Company, while Trivia Night returns to Guidon Brewing on Wednesday at 7 p.m. Visitors can also explore the "Place & Time" art exhibition at Asheville Regional Airport, featuring works by eight Western North Carolina artists through early August. Downtown Hendersonville's restaurants, shops and breweries remain active throughout the week.
Haywood County
Haywood County offers live entertainment throughout the week at several venues. In Maggie Valley, Meadowlark Motel has become one of the area's most unique music destinations, hosting Wednesday Wine Down with live music, Thursday Craft Beer Night featuring local musicians and Saturday Night Cookouts with performances by artist-in-residence Mike Ogletree and guest artists.
Downtown Waynesville also offers live entertainment throughout the week. The Classic Wineseller regularly features acoustic musicians, while Boojum's Gem Bar hosts live music on Wednesday and Thursday evenings. Frog Level Brewing Co. continues to feature local musicians, food trucks and community events, making the Frog Level district a popular evening destination.
The Folkmoot Friendship Center continues its summer schedule of cultural programs and performances, while the Smoky Mountain Event Center hosts community events, expos and seasonal entertainment throughout the year.
Visitors looking ahead to the weekend can also enjoy Hillbilly Jam at the Maggie Valley Festival Grounds, Friday and Saturday, July 24-25, from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., featuring live music, food vendors, crafts and family entertainment.
Jackson County
Downtown Sylva remains one of Western North Carolina's most popular evening destinations, with local breweries and restaurants hosting live music throughout the week. While the popular Concerts on the Creek series takes place on Friday evenings from 7–9 p.m. at Bridge Park, downtown businesses continue offering food, music and shopping Monday through Thursday.
Swain County
The Great Smoky Mountains Railroad departs from its Bryson City depot with scenic excursions nearly every day, including the popular Great Smoky Mountains Music Train, combining live entertainment with a rail journey through the mountains. Downtown Bryson City also features evening dining, shopping and occasional live music throughout the week.
Macon County
Visitors planning ahead can mark their calendars for Pickin' on the Square, Franklin's free summer concert series, held every Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Town Square in downtown Franklin. During the week, downtown Franklin offers locally owned restaurants, shops and galleries, while the Smoky Mountain Center for the Performing Arts continues its summer entertainment schedule with nationally touring acts and special performances.
