We’re excited to announce that the Waynesville Branch of the Haywood County Public Library will officially reopen on February 23, 2026! The branch temporarily closed for a major roof and HVAC replacement project—critical upgrades that will improve both the safety and long-term sustainability of the facility. Over the past several months, construction crews have been hard at work modernizing key areas of the building to create a stronger, more comfortable space for everyone.
The Haywood County Public Library has long been a hub of learning, connection, and community, and these improvements will help ensure it continues to serve our citizens for generations to come. By investing in a new roof and upgraded HVAC system, we’re not just repairing a building—we’re creating a safer, more energy-efficient environment where people of all ages can gather, discover, and grow. These updates will protect the library’s collections, extend the life of the facility, and provide a more welcoming space for programs, resources, and quiet moments alike.
Visitors will also notice brand-new flooring, fresh exterior paint, brighter lighting, refreshed collections, and a new community gathering space designed to bring people together. We can’t wait to welcome cardholders back to a more modern, inviting library experience.
The Waynesville Branch is open Monday and Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
