Asheville -- July 24, 2026: A national violence prevention nonprofit has raised the financial reward being offered for information regarding the fatal July 19 mass shooting on Biltmore Avenue.

The Youth Peace & Justice Foundation — announced Friday that it has bumped the reward up to $5,000. The funds are designated for credible information that directly leads to the arrest and prosecution of those responsible for the violence.

The shooting took place late in the night on July 19 along the 250 block of Biltmore Avenue, shortly after surrounding businesses had closed. The gunfire left two people dead and several others injured. While detectives with the Asheville Police Department have recovered a firearm along with multiple shell casings from the scene, no suspects have been taken into custody.

By increasing the reward, foundation officials hope to motivate individuals who may have critical details or evidence to break their silence.

"Following the devastating violence experienced by the Asheville community, we want to do our part to support the pursuit of justice," said Daniel Chapin, founder and national director of the foundation. "This reward is intended to encourage anyone with credible information to come forward and assist investigators in holding those responsible accountable."
