McDowell County -- August 18, 2025: McDowell County Sheriff’s Office Community Impact Team charged Taylor McKenzie Greene, 29, of Marion with the following charges:
• Felony Trafficking Opium or Heroin
• Felony Possession with Intent to Manufacture, Sell or Deliver a Schedule I Controlled Substance
• Felony Possession of a Schedule I Controlled Substance
• Felony Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance
• Felony Maintain Vehicle, Dwelling or Place for Controlled Substance
• Misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
She was given a secured bond of $150,000.
Also charged ,30-year-old James Boyd Woodard Jr., of Marion, with felony Possession of a Schedule I Controlled Substance, and felony Trafficking Opium or Heroin. He was denied bond due to already being out on pretrial release.
On Saturday, August 9, detectives initiated a vehicle stop for a traffic violation on a Ford Escape, near the Old Fort Exit on Interstate 40. Greene was the driver, and Woodard, a passenger.
With the assistance of MCSO K-9 Hiko, detectives located suspected amounts of fentanyl (5 grams), methamphetamine, Zene (a synthetic opiod) and drug paraphernalia.
Both Greene and Woodard were placed under arrest and transported to the McDowell County Detention Center.
