Two People Face Felony Charges in McDowell County

McDowell County -- October 15, 2025: McDowell County Sheriff's Office charged two people with felonies.

McDowell County Sheriff’s Office charged 38-year-old Bynum Lee Little, Jr., of Nebo, with the following:

• Two counts felony Breaking and/or Entering a Motor Vehicle and felony Larceny.

• Two counts felony Breaking and/or Entering a Motor Vehicle

• Three counts felony Larceny

He was given a secured bond of $50,000.

Between September 22-24, N.C. Department of Transportation (DOT) workers reported to the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office that numerous items had been removed from the property including chainsaws, leaf blowers and a Makita hammer drill.

Camera footage provided by the DOT helped confirm the identity of Little.

Additional charges are pending.

Brittany Dawn Owensby, 41, of Marion was also involved, and charged with Felony Accessory After the Fact. She was denied bond due to already being out on pretrial release.
