Two People Charged in Swain County Theft

Swain County -- August 27, 2025: The Swain County Sheriff's Office announced the following on social media Saturday: Swain County Sheriff’s Office arrested two individuals in connection with a breaking and entering incident that occurred on July 14, 2025. After a detailed investigation, the following suspects were taken into custody:

• Maurice Jordan Jackson, 24 years old

• Mashala Jasper Phillips, 28 years old

Both individuals have been charged with:

• Breaking and Entering

• Larceny After Breaking and Entering

• Possession of Stolen Goods

• Felony Conspiracy

• Injury to Personal Property

• Injury to Real Property

Bond Information:

• Maurice Jordan Jackson is being held on a 48-hour no-bond.

• Mashala Jasper Phillips is being held on a $15,000 secured bond.
