McDowell County Sheriff’s Office Community Impact Team charged Rodney O’Neal Lavan, 59, of Hickory, with the following:
• Felony Possession of a Stolen Motor Vehicle
• Felony Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance
• Felony Possession with Intent to Manufacture, Sell or Deliver a Schedule II Controlled Substance
• Felony Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
He was given no bond due to already being out on pretrial release.
Det. Smith also charged Cynthia Nicole Bass, 46, of Nebo, with felony Possession of a Stolen Vehicle. She was given a secured bond of $20,000.
On Friday, October 17, a traffic stop was initiated on a Ford Focus that was reported stolen.
A subsequent search of the vehicle and Lavan turned up suspected amounts of “Crack” cocaine, cocaine and drug paraphernalia.
