Fairview -- May 9, 2026: A triple homicide in Fairview has sent shockwaves through the greater Asheville area, as a teenage daughter and an adult male face murder charges in the deaths of three family members.
The victims were identified as Travis Eugene Grant, 41, Kimberly Michelle Grant, 42, and Sharon Harwood Grant, 66. Authorities have charged Star Grant, 16, the daughter of Travis and Kimberly Grant and granddaughter of Sharon Grant, along with Devon O'Neil Loving, 28. Both suspects are Buncombe County residents. Due to the severity of the alleged crimes, Star Grant is being charged as an adult.
Buncombe County deputies discovered the three family members shot to death inside their home on Ashworth Drive in Fairview on Thursday, May 8, 2026, at approximately 7:15 p.m. A relative had requested a welfare check after friends and family had not heard from the victims.
During a press conference on Friday, May 8, Buncombe County officials named Star Grant and Devan Loving, 28, as the suspects in the case. Loving was apprehended alongside Grant in Gatlinburg. on Friday at a hotel. Both individuals are facing three counts of first-degree murder and a single count of felony conspiracy to commit murder.
