According to the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT), the crash occurred on the eastbound side of I-240 near Exit 3A (Patton Avenue). Emergency responders and state transportation crews arrived at the scene shortly after the incident was first reported at 8:07 a.m. Monday.
