Swannanoa -- Swannanoa residents are seeing forward movement on a new main post office. The U.S. Postal Service (USPS) has confirmed plans to relocate the Swannanoa Post Office.
After Helene in September 2024, the post office was damaged beyond repair.
The new location is at the former Family Dollar store,

Great news for Swannanoa!
I’m excited to share that the United States Postal Service has entered into a long-term lease for the building and property located at:
2230 US 70 Hwy
Swannanoa, NC 28778
This location is planned to become the new Swannanoa Main Post Office.
According to the update I received, the project is currently in the design and construction process. USPS will provide an estimated construction timeline once that information becomes available.
This is an important step toward restoring reliable retail postal services for the Swannanoa community. I know many residents have been waiting for answers, and I’m grateful to see forward movement.
