Swannanoa -- August 6, 2026: The Buncombe County Sheriff's Office has arrested 71-year-old Larry O'Connor Green of Swannanoa on multiple felony drug charges following an investigation into suspected narcotics sales.
According to the Sheriff's Office, Green was arrested by members of the Community Oriented Policing (COP) Team at his residence on Wednesday, July 15, located at 112 Patton Hill Road in Swannanoa.
Deputies said they worked closely with community members during the investigation, which led to Green's arrest.
During a search of the residence, deputies seized:
7.6 grams of fentanyl
10.4 grams of crack cocaine
Drug paraphernalia
Green has been charged with:
Trafficking in Fentanyl
Possession of Fentanyl
Felony Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance
Maintaining a Vehicle/Dwelling/Place for Controlled Substances
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Green was booked into the Buncombe County Detention Facility under a $115,000 secured bond.
In a statement, BCSO District 1 Captain Dustan Auldredge said:
As with all criminal cases, the charges against Green are allegations, and he is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
