The gunfire caused property damage to two vehicles and an occupied residence, though fortunately, no injuries were reported.
APD Patrol Officers were dispatched to Crest Avenue around 6:11 p.m. after receiving reports of gun discharges. Upon arriving at the scene, officers immediately located two unoccupied vehicles that had been struck by numerous bullets.
As officers conducted a thorough search of the area, they found shell casings and discovered that an occupied residence had also been hit by the gunfire.
Preliminary investigation by the APD suggests that the incident was the result of occupants from three separate vehicles shooting at one another before all parties fled the scene.
The Asheville Police Department continues to investigate the incident and is seeking information from the public.
