Waynesville -- June 2, 2026: Sarge’s Animal Rescue Foundation has officially initiated a major fundraising push to completely transform its operations in Haywood County.
The campaign, named "Tails of Tomorrow," represents a massive step forward for the non-profit as it looks to modernize its physical infrastructure to better serve the region's homeless dogs and cats.
Funding the Vision
The organization's overall goal is being met in two distinct stages:
Phase One Complete: Thanks to an initial $1 million generated by early community support, the foundation successfully purchased the permanent building it currently occupies.
The Next Phase: With the property officially secured, leadership is now pivoting to a $2.2 million capital drive. This critical funding will be poured directly into interior renovations, structural expansions, and advanced care upgrades.
Upgrading Local Care
The upcoming renovations are designed to maximize animal safety and health. Planned facility improvements include the construction of sanitized quarantine zones for incoming animals, modern, stress-free kennel designs, expanded outdoor play yards, and enhanced medical and dietary prep spaces.
By upgrading this localized hub, Sarge's ensures it can continue its 20-year legacy of partnering with county resources to maintain a no-kill standard for adoptable pets in Western North Carolina.
