Rutherford County Homicide Case Expands: Multiple Arrests

Rutherford County -- July 9, 2026: What began as a missing person investigation for Jordan Elaine Wishon has rapidly escalated into a broad homicide case, with Rutherford County investigators formally charging seven individuals in connection with her killing. The swift progression highlights a coordinated effort to apprehend all alleged participants, from the primary suspect to those accused of assisting or concealing the crime.

Rutherford County -- July 9, 2026: What began as a missing person investigation for Jordan Elaine Wishon has rapidly escalated into a broad homicide case, with Rutherford County investigators formally charging seven individuals in connection with her killing.

The case originated when Jordan Elaine Wishon was reported missing to the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office. During the subsequent investigation, deputies discovered buried human remains on a property in Rutherfordton, North Carolina. These remains were later identified as 30-year-old Wishon, transforming the missing person inquiry into a homicide probe.

Authorities quickly focused on 25-year-old Jaydakis Kashaune Hamilton, who has been charged with first-degree murder in Wishon’s death. At the time of the homicide charge, Hamilton was already in custody on unrelated charges, including multiple driving offenses and resisting an officer, filed approximately two weeks prior by the North Carolina State Highway Patrol. Hamilton is currently being held at the Polk County Detention Center as the investigation continues.

As of July 8, 2026, Rutherford County Sheriff's Office investigators have charged six additional individuals in connection with the murder investigation:

Christina Hamilton – Charged with Accessory After the Fact. Arrested on June 29, 2026, and received a $250,000 secured bond.

Tiquah Carter – Charged with Accessory After the Fact. Arrested on June 29, 2026, and received a $250,000 secured bond.

Alexis Nicole Morgan – Charged with Accessory After the Fact and Failure to Report a Death. Arrested on July 6, 2026, and received a $350,000 secured bond.

Ronald David Gibson – Charged with Accessory After the Fact and Failure to Report a Death. Arrested on July 7, 2026, and received a $350,000 secured bond.

Shadrick Deon Hines – Charged with Accessory After the Fact and Failure to Report a Death. Arrested on July 7, 2026, and received a $350,000 secured bond.

Stevon Wilkerson – Charged with Accessory After the Fact and Failure to Report a Death. Arrested on July 7, 2026, and received a $580,000 secured bond. (Wilkerson also had unrelated outstanding warrants at the time of his arrest.

At this time, every individual arrested in connection with this investigation remains incarcerated. Local sources indicate that booking photographs of those arrested are available for review.
