The City of Asheville Press Release August 18, 2025: has completed debris removal at Riverside Cemetery as part of ongoing restoration efforts following Tropical Storm Helene.

We are grateful for the community’s patience and understanding during this final phase of debris removal, which began on July 22 and involved careful removal to protect gravesites and ensure safety.

With debris removal complete, Riverside Cemetery will return to its regular hours of 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., seven days a week beginning today, Monday, August 18. City staff will continue to assess the grounds and proceed with additional restoration activities as needed including planting grass where there were rootball disturbances.
