Asheville -- April 2, 2026: After an absence of more than 80 years, the PGA TOUR is officially returning to Western North Carolina, and local residents have a unique opportunity to be part of the action. The inaugural Biltmore Championship Asheville is scheduled for September 17–20, 2026, and tournament organizers have begun the search for the "heartbeat" of the event: the volunteers.
Hosted at the stunning Jack Nicklaus-designed The Cliffs at Walnut Cove, the tournament marks a significant milestone in the region's recovery and resurgence. As part of the PGA TOUR’s FedExCup Fall, the event is expected to draw elite competition and national media attention to the Blue Ridge Mountains.

Professional golf tournaments are massive logistical undertakings that rely on the dedication of local citizens. From tracking scores to ensuring a world-class experience for spectators, volunteers fill essential roles that make the broadcast and the competition possible.
The PGA TOUR estimates that over 100,000 volunteers support its events annually across the country. For Asheville, this inaugural year sets the stage for a four-year agreement that will spotlight our community through 2029.
Available Roles and Requirements
While specific committee assignments are finalized closer to the event, typical volunteer opportunities include:
Gallery Management & Marshals: Assisting with crowd control and player movement.
Walking Scorers & ShotLink Spotters: Using technology to track every shot for real-time digital leaderboards.
Hospitality Greeters: Welcoming corporate sponsors and guests to the Biltmore and Explore Asheville luxury suites.
Ecology & Logistics: Helping maintain the pristine conditions of the course throughout the week.
General Requirements:
Most roles require a commitment of at least three half-day shifts or two full-day shifts.
Volunteers typically must be 18 years of age (though some positions allow for ages 16-17 with adult supervision).
