Set to be a highlight of the 2026 FedExCup Fall season, the inaugural tournament will be contested September 17-20, 2026, at the highly-regarded The Cliffs at Walnut Cove in Arden, just south of Asheville. The four-year agreement secures a significant, high-profile sporting event for the region.
Jack Nicklaus-Designed Course
The Jack Nicklaus-designed course at The Cliffs at Walnut Cove will serve as the spectacular backdrop, nestled amidst the stunning Blue Ridge Mountains. This marks Asheville’s first PGA TOUR event in more than eight decades, dating back to the legendary Asheville Land of the Sky Open, which golf icon Ben Hogan famously won three times in the early 1940s.

The celebratory announcement event was held Monday, November 10, at the Biltmore Estate. Key figures, including Jordan Uppleger, Vice President of PGA Tour Events, were joined by leadership from the co-title sponsors, Biltmore Estate and Explore Asheville.
Significantly, the unveiling of this major tournament comes just over a year after Tropical Storm Helene caused historic devastation to the region. The timing recognizes the remarkable progress and resilience that the community has shown since the storm, with this tournament serving as both a celebration and an economic boost for the future.
The tournament is anticipated to be a major economic driver, bringing an influx of visitors and significant national television exposure, with the event scheduled to be broadcast on Golf Channel and other PGA TOUR media properties, including PGA TOUR LIVE on ESPN+.
