Buncombe County -- August 5, 2026: The Buncombe County Sheriff's Office announced multiple arrests following a Community Oriented Policing (COPS) Team operation targeting a residence near the intersection of Sardis Road and Brevard Road.
According to the Sheriff's Office, the investigation began after community members provided information about suspected criminal activity at a home located at 4 Coffey Circle, also identified as 135 Stradley Mountain Road.
After obtaining and executing a search warrant at the residence, investigators located five individuals with multiple active felony warrants. Deputies also seized approximately 20.5 grams of psilocybin mushrooms, methamphetamine, a stolen motorcycle, multiple stolen driver's licenses and Social Security cards, and an illegal notary stamp.
District 1 Captain Dustan Auldredge emphasized the importance of community involvement in helping deputies identify recurring criminal activity.

The Buncombe County Sheriff's Office said the operation is part of an ongoing effort to address recurring criminal activity in neighborhoods through investigations initiated by information provided by community members. Officials indicated additional Community Oriented Policing operations are planned.
