Rutherford County -- A targeted investigation by the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office Aggressive Criminal Enforcement (ACE) Team culminated in a significant bust on Thursday, March 20, 2026, resulting in the seizure of over a pound of methamphetamine, fentanyl, and a small arsenal of firearms.

The operation began following multiple community complaints regarding suspected drug trafficking at a residence in the Ellenboro area. After conducting surveillance over several days, investigators initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle seen leaving the property. The driver, identified as Shannon Nicole Morgan of Ellenboro, was found in possession of approximately 11 grams of methamphetamine.

Search Warrant Uncovers "Stash House"

Following the traffic stop, the ACE Team executed a search warrant at a residence on Shires Road. Inside, investigators encountered Jesse Frank Gonzales and discovered a substantial cache of illegal narcotics and weaponry.
