Morganton Man Facing Felony Charges for Vehicle Break-In

McDowell County -- February 13, 2026: A Morganton man is behind bars after allegedly entering an occupied vehicle in the Nebo community last weekend.

On Saturday, February 7, the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence in Nebo following a report of an unauthorized individual inside a vehicle. The homeowner alerted authorities after discovering an unknown male had entered the vehicle while it was occupied.

Upon arriving at the scene, Deputy Day intercepted Jordan Randy Pinson, 30, as he was walking away from the property. During the encounter, deputies discovered that Pinson had multiple active warrants for his arrest.

The investigation was bolstered by surveillance footage provided by the homeowner, which reportedly confirmed that Pinson entered the vehicle without permission.

The McDowell County Sheriff’s Office has officially charged Pinson with:

  • Felony Breaking and Entering a Motor Vehicle

At the time of his arrest, Pinson was already out on pretrial release for separate matters. Consequently, he was initially denied bond and remains in custody.

*Suspect is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
