McDowell County -- July 15, 2026: A Marion woman is facing a felony charge after deputies say she stabbed a man multiple times with a pocketknife while he was sleeping.
According to the McDowell County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded on July 9 to a reported stabbing at a home in Marion. When they arrived, they found a man suffering from multiple stab wounds and lacerations. The victim told investigators he had been asleep inside the home when he was attacked with a pocketknife.
Following an investigation, deputies identified Tiffany Ann Justice, 40, of Marion, as the suspect. She was arrested and charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury, a felony under North Carolina law.
Justice was initially denied bond because the incident was domestic violence-related, according to the sheriff's office.
As of the latest available information, authorities have not released the victim's current medical condition, and court dates or additional case details have not been announced.
