September 26, 2025:
Yesterday, MANNA fed 1,833 families at our Food For All distribution event! This accomplishment was made possible by our incredible operations staff, volunteers, and our partners at Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina and Food Lion Feeds. THANK YOU! We also want to thank WYFF News 4 for covering the event for their "Day 4 Giving," which raised enough for MANNA to provide another 58,400 meals.
While we're so excited about how many neighbors we were able to serve, there were many more families who arrived than we were able to feed at this particular event. This high turnout of people willing to wait in line for groceries really speaks to how much food insecurity still exists in our community one year after Hurricane Helene. And it isn't just today—in June we recorded more than 190,000 visits to MANNA and our partner agencies, the highest number in our 42-year history.
Despite the increase in need in our region, we are committed to ensuring food for all in WNC, today, tomorrow, and for a lifetime.
