MADISON COUNTY, NC – The Madison County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) is currently investigating a homicide following an early morning call on Wednesday, April 1, 2026.
According to Sheriff Buddy Harwood, deputies were dispatched to a residence on Franklin Mountain Road in the Laurel community at approximately 1:20 a.m. Upon arrival, authorities initiated what has now been confirmed as an active and ongoing homicide investigation.
