The Investigation and Discovery

A 17-year-old student in possession of a loaded handgun.
A 14-year-old student in possession of ammunition.
Both individuals, identified only as juveniles due to legal restrictions, were taken into custody following the discovery.

The investigation drew a large law enforcement presence to the Skyland area this morning. While the visibility of patrol units was high, authorities moved quickly to secure the firearm and ammunition.
"All students and staff are safe, the schools continued to operate normally, and once the firearm and ammunition were located, there was no further threat," the Sheriff’s Office stated in a press release.
Safety and Next Steps
The BCSO has not released information regarding the students' intent or how the weapon was brought onto campus. As of Tuesday afternoon, there is no ongoing threat to the T.C. Roberson community.
