More Than Just a Party: How LEAF Helps WNC
LEAF Global Arts is often associated with world-class music, but its real work happens in our local classrooms. Proceeds from events like "Deep Roots" at Pisgah Brewing directly fund LEAF Schools & Streets, which serves over 9,000 Buncombe County youth annually.

Friday, May 29: The Bear Shadow Festival (May 29–31) kicks off Friday night with an intimate benefit concert by the Grammy-winning Infamous Stringdusters at the Ferngrove venue in Highlands. Net proceeds from this opening night go directly to Stage4Hope, a charity that provides lifesaving treatment and travel support for advanced-stage cancer patients."
Saturday, May 30: LEAF "Deep Roots" (Black Mountain) The main event! Head to Pisgah Brewing from 12:00 PM to 11:00 PM for family-friendly global music, youth showcases, and local food trucks. It’s the perfect "locals' day out."
Saturday, May 30: Yala Cultural Tours (Asheville) Before heading to Black Mountain, stop by the LEAF Global Experience on Eagle Street for a West African drum class and cultural exploration from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM.
Sunday, May 31: Bluegrass Brunch & River Walks Wrap up the weekend with a quintessential Asheville Sunday. Head to Jack of the Wood Pub on Patton Avenue for the Bluegrass Brunch, featuring live music from The Bluegrass Brunch Boys from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM. Afterward, enjoy a walk through the River Arts District, where many local studios remain open for visitors to see artists at work along the French Broad River.
