Juvenile Arrested Following Shooting at a Vehicle in Asheville

Asheiville -- August 18, 2025: A juvenile was taken into custody by Asheville Police after he fired a gun and caused damage to a car on Friday afternoon. Only property damage has been reported, and no one was hurt.

Around 4:55 p.m. on August 15, officers were called to a gun discharge on Roberts Street. During the course of the investigation, the victim said that they were traveling west on Haywood Road when someone shooting at their car as they turned onto Roberts Street.

A witness and the victim were both able to describe the attacker and the bicycle he used to escape the scene. Officers conducted additional investigation before finding the bicycle and the young suspect at a nearby home. He was apprehended without any problems.

The Department of Juvenile Justice is assisting Asheville Police in their ongoing investigation.
