Henderson County -- April 28, 2026: Local authorities are investigating a late-night shooting that left one person dead at a community park in Flat Rock on Monday.
The Henderson County Sheriff’s Office reported that deputies were dispatched to Dana Park, located at 2879 Upward Road, at approximately 11:26 p.m. on April 27, 2026, following reports of gunfire.
Upon arriving at the scene, law enforcement discovered one victim suffering from gunshot wounds. The individual later succumbed to their injuries. The identity of the deceased has not yet been released, pending notification of next of kin.

Sheriff’s Office investigators stated early Tuesday that they do not believe the shooting was a random act of violence. While the investigation is in its preliminary stages, officials emphasized that there is no immediate threat to the public.
