Burke County -- July 25, 2026: Burke County authorities have arrested a Hickory man in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred late Saturday night on River Rock Road in Hickory.
Burke County Sheriff's Office announced the arrest on social media:
The Criminal Investigations Division responded and conducted an investigation. At the conclusion of the investigation, warrants were issued on Kenneth Lee Potter, 40, of 4281 South Park Ave in Hickory, NC. Potter was taken into custody without incident.
The investigation is ongoing and additional information may be released when it is available. The identity of the victim will be released after the next of kin is notified.
