HENDERSONVILLE -- The North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation (NCSBI) has launched an inquiry into an officer-involved shooting that occurred Sunday afternoon at an apartment complex in Hendersonville.

The incident unfolded around 3:00 PM on March 15, 2026, at the Hebron Terrace Apartments located at 609 Hebron Road. According to Hendersonville Police Chief Blair Myhand, officers were dispatched to the scene following a 911 call regarding a man making threats.

Details of the Encounter

In a surprising turn during the preliminary investigation, Chief Myhand noted that the individual who was shot is believed to be the same person who placed the original 911 call.

Upon arrival, officers encountered a man in his 20s who was reportedly armed with multiple knives. Preliminary reports indicate that the man had been staying at the complex with family members.
