Haywood County Health & Human Services Collecting Christmas Gifts for Children in Foster Care

Haywood County -- October 28, 2025: The Haywood County Government announced Haywood County Health and Human Services is collecting Christmas gifts for sponsored children in foster care:

The holiday season is a time for giving, and Haywood County Health and Human Services Agency (HHSA) invites the community to help make Christmas brighter for our local foster children.

This year, approximately 140 children in foster care across Haywood County are hoping for a little extra holiday magic — and you can help make it happen. By sponsoring a foster child, you’ll have the opportunity to purchase gifts from their personal wish list, ensuring each child feels loved and remembered this Christmas.

Those who wish to participate can stop by HHSA or call 828-356-2427 to select the child or children they’d like to sponsor. All gifts should be purchased and dropped off no later than Wednesday, December 3, 2025. We are located at 157 Paragon Parkway in Clyde and open Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

If you’re unable to shop for gifts but still wish to participate, monetary donations are also appreciated. Cash or check donations are accepted. Checks can be made payable to Haywood County Health and Human Services, with “Foster Care Donations” noted in the memo line. Donations can be dropped off to Mary Morgan at HHSA.

And don’t forget — we’re also collecting wrapping paper and supplies to help bring festive finishing touches to the children’s gifts!

Together, we can ensure every foster child in Haywood County experiences the joy, warmth, and wonder of the holiday season.
