Haywood County -- An ambulance crash in Haywood County sent three people to Mission Hospital in Asheville. The single-vehicle accident involved a Haywood County Rescue Squad ambulance and occurred on U.S. 70 West.
The ambulance was responding to an emergency call when it crashed Wednesday morning. The ambulance went out of control and into a culvert. A patient who was being transported in the ambulance, along with two crew members, was injured.
All three individuals were transported to Mission Hospital in Asheville for evaluation and treatment. Local sources indicate the injuries sustained were not life-threatening.
The crash remains under investigation by the North Carolina State Highway Patrol.
