Buncombe County -- May 22, 2026: Press Release Buncombe County Sheriff's Office May 22, 2026: As part of our commitment to transparency, Sheriff Quentin Miller announced a former Buncombe County Detention Facility Officer has been fired and charged.
Cameron Blaine Taylor was fired Thursday afternoon and charged with Willful Failure to Discharge Duties. He was booked into the Buncombe County Detention Facility at 7:40 Thursday evening and is being held on $10,000 bond. Taylor is being housed in a facility outside of Buncombe County. Taylor has been a detention officer with the Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office for less than a year. Because this is a pending criminal investigation, we are unable to provide additional details.
