Rutherford County -- July 1, 2026: Five people have been arrested following a lengthy investigation by the Rutherford County Sheriff's Office into suspected illegal narcotics activity at a residence on Lavista Circle in Forest City.
According to the Rutherford County Sheriff's Office, investigators spent an extended period investigating multiple cases connected to a home located at 182 Lavista Circle. Throughout the investigation, the Sheriff's Office said it received numerous complaints and tips from community members regarding suspected illegal drug activity at the residence.
Based on recently received information, along with evidence gathered during the ongoing investigation, investigators with the Sheriff's Office Aggressive Criminal Enforcement (ACE) Team responded to the residence to conduct a follow-up investigation and speak with those at the property.
Investigators made contact with homeowner Neal Cabiness, who was advised of the complaints and information regarding suspected narcotics sales occurring at the residence. According to the Sheriff's Office, Cabiness voluntarily consented to a search of the property.
During the search, investigators encountered Donald J. Kampa, Julie W. Glynn, James D. Phillips, and Stanley L. Weeks inside the residence.
The Sheriff's Office reported that the search resulted in the seizure of approximately 14 grams of powder fentanyl, 1.5 grams of methamphetamine, 12.05 grams of marijuana, and numerous items of drug paraphernalia.
