Woodfin -- May 7, 2026: A popular riverside coffee destination is a total loss today following an early morning structure fire that led to a felony arrest.
Emergency responders were alerted to a blaze behind The Mill at Riverside at approximately 1:00 AM Thursday. The fire broke out in the small building occupied by High Five Coffee, situated along the banks of the French Broad River.
Incident Details and Response
While fire officials arrived on the scene quickly and worked to suppress the flames, the structure was ultimately destroyed. Authorities confirmed that no injuries were reported during the incident.
Location: Rear parking lot of The Mill at Riverside.
Damage: The building is considered a total loss.

Suspect Identified and Arrested
The investigation moved rapidly as Woodfin Detectives utilized video surveillance to identify a person of interest. Following a brief pursuit on foot earlier this morning, officers took Nicholas Hunter Grigsby, of Valley Park Drive, into custody.

Domestic Violence Protective Order Violation
He is currently being held at the Buncombe County Jail under a $100,000 bond. Woodfin Police officials indicate that additional charges are expected as the investigation continues.
