To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all participants and spectators, the Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office confirms that the parade route on US 74A (Charlotte Highway) will require a temporary but critical road closure.
Parade Time & Route
The parade is expected to step off shortly after the road closure begins, running along a key stretch of US 74A.
Date: Saturday, December 13
Location/Parade Route: US 74A (Charlotte Highway) between Sharon Road and Miller Road.
Celebration Time: Expect the procession to run from approximately 10:00 AM until noon.
⚠️ Road Closure Details for Motorists
The road will be completely closed in both directions during the parade hours. We ask all drivers to plan alternate routes and allow extra time for travel.
Closure Starts: 9:45 AM
Expected Reopening: No earlier than 12:00 PM (noon)
Recommended Detour Roads: Law enforcement will be directing traffic onto local routes. Drivers are advised to use:
