BUNCOMBE COUNTY -- Buncombe County Sheriff's Office Department Press Release March 5, 2026:
On March 4th, during a search for a man reported missing last month, BCSO Deputies found a deceased person near Elk Mountain Scenic Highway. At this time, it is unclear if the decedent is the person reported missing. Once we have a positive identification from the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner and have ensured next of kin notification, we will provide additional information.
