Dillsboro's Easter Hat Parade: Quirky Hats & Mountain Charm!

Dillsboro's annual Easter Hat Parade returns with its unique blend of eccentric headwear and community fun. Participants can even craft their own hats at Dogwood Crafters before strutting their stuff in the parade.

Dillsboro's annual Easter Hat Parade, a beloved tradition that reflects the town's vibrant artistic community, is scheduled to return on Saturday, April 4, 2026. The event features a unique blend of eccentric headwear, local craftsmanship, and community fun.

The parade is famous for the quirky and creative hats worn by participants, including both people and their pets. Attendees can either bring their own homemade masterpieces or create them on-site at Dogwood Crafters before the procession begins.

Event Details

  • Hat-Making & Activities: Festivities kick off at 10:00 AM and run until 1:45 PM at Dogwood Crafters on Webster Street. This is the perfect opportunity for attendees to decorate their hats with a variety of supplied "frills."

  • The Easter Bunny: The Easter Bunny is scheduled to meet children and distribute candies throughout the morning and will lead the parade in the afternoon.

  • Egg Hunt: A massive egg hunt featuring 4,000 eggs is planned for children at 11:00 AM at Monteith Park.

  • Registration: Parade registration begins at 11:00 AM and continues until 1:45 PM at the Dillsboro Town Hall on Front Street.

  • The Parade: The main event will commence at 2:00 PM, departing from Town Hall and winding through the historic downtown streets.

Judging and Prizes

The parade is followed by a lively awards ceremony. Prizes and ribbons are awarded in several delightful categories, including:

  • Largest & Smallest
