Buncombe County has finalized the purchase of land on Deaverview Mountain, also known as Spivey Mountain, to create its largest public park, second only to the proposed Pisgah View State Park. The park will provide recreational opportunities for Asheville residents, including hiking trails and picnic areas, with potential for future development.The county acquired 342 acres through a partnership with the Southern Appalachian Highlands Conservancy (SAHC). The total cost is estimated at $8,950,000
