At just 22 years old, Everett’s death followed a grueling battle with metastatic signet ring cell carcinoma, a rare and aggressive form of cancer diagnosed in 2025.

Everett was crowned Miss North Carolina in June 2024, a role she embraced with a focus on youth mentorship and service.
