Buncombe County -- October 5, 2026: Buncombe County residents can prepare for the 2026 general election with early voting available at 13 locations across the county. Early voting runs from Thursday, Oct. 15, through Saturday, Oct. 31, ending at 3 p.m. Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2026.
The county’s 13-site network includes Wesley Grant Southside Center in place of the Board of Elections office. During early voting, Buncombe County voters may cast their ballot at any of the 13 locations.

Key Information for Voters
Same-day registration: Eligible residents who are not registered in Buncombe County may register and vote at any county early voting site. They must attest to their eligibility and provide proof of residence. Registered voters may also update their name or address within the county during early voting.
Photo identification: Voters will be asked to show an acceptable photo ID. A qualifying North Carolina driver’s license showing the voter’s current address can serve as both photo ID and proof of residence for same-day registration. Voters unable to present an acceptable photo ID may vote provisionally and complete a Photo ID Exception Form explaining a qualifying reason. Accessibility: Curbside voting is available at all voting locations during early voting and on Election Day for eligible voters unable to enter because of age or disability. Voters with accommodation questions may contact Buncombe County Election Services at 828-250-4200.
Election Day: Voters who wait until Tuesday, Nov. 3, must vote at their assigned polling place. Election Day polls are open from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Find additional county election information.
