Men's Hoops Triumphs Over UNCG
The UNC Asheville basketball programs completed their back-to-back home games this week with a split result. The men’s team secured a thrilling victory downtown, while the women’s team fell in a low-scoring Education Day contest.
The UNC Asheville men's basketball team (4-4) secured a hard-fought win on Tuesday night, defeating in-state foe UNC Greensboro, 82-77, at the Harrah’s Cherokee Center – Asheville.
The Bulldogs’ offense was powered by four players reaching double figures, building momentum from their recent win over Appalachian State.
Dominant Scorers:
Toyaz Solomon led the team with 20 points, continuing his stellar play.
DJ Patrick, Kameron Taylor, and Justin Wright each scored 18 points.
Women Fall in Education Day Contest
On Wednesday morning at Kimmel Arena, the UNC Asheville women's team (2-6) hosted South Carolina State (3-6) for the annual Education Day game. In a tough, defensive battle, the Bulldogs fell short, 48-43.

The Bulldogs’ scoring was led by Kristen McMillan with 12 points.
She was followed by Nia Green with 9 points.
