UNC Asheville is gearing up for its 2026 Homecoming, themed "Bulldog Spirit," with a range of events from Feb. 20-21, and some activities starting as early as Feb. 18. Beyond the traditional athletic games and alumni gatherings, this year's celebration includes unique opportunities for reconnection and community engagement across campus and Asheville.
Key Events and Highlights
The weekend aims to celebrate UNC Asheville alumni, students, faculty, staff, and friends. Events include basketball doubleheaders, baseball games, campus tours, meet-ups, and parties. These events emphasize Bulldog pride and reconnection. A "Party Pack" ticket is available for paid events, snacks, and drink tickets. Families are welcome at most events.
Friday, Feb. 20, features a baseball pre-game celebration from 1:30-3:30 p.m. at Greenwood Baseball Field, including food trucks and axe throwing, followed by UNC Asheville vs. Rider University baseball at 3 p.m. The Career Center is hosting a Career Closet donation drop-off from 3-6 p.m. in Ramsey Library. A chemistry alumni meet-up is scheduled for 5 p.m. at Highland Brewing, and stargazing for Honors alumni will take place at 6:30 p.m. at Lookout Observatory.
Saturday, Feb. 21, includes a volunteer opportunity with Babies Need Bottoms at 10 a.m. in Highsmith Student Union, where participants can pack boxes for students. A homecoming tailgate will be held from noon-2 p.m. in the P11 parking lot, featuring food, music, and an Alumni Tent. Campus tours, guided by students, will start at noon at the Rocky the Bulldog statue outside Kimmel Arena, with registration required. The women’s basketball team will play Presbyterian College at 2 p.m., followed by the Alumni Zone from 3:30-4:30 p.m. in Sherrill Center. The men’s basketball team will then face Radford University at 4:30 p.m. A closing celebration will take place from 8-11 p.m. at Hi-Wire Brewing.
