Black Mountain -- April 22, 2026: The Black Mountain Police Department (BMPD) is continuing to adapt its operations following its emergency relocation from the Montreat Road Public Safety Building earlier this spring. Due to structural safety concerns at the original facility, the department has transitioned its administrative presence to the Givens Highland Farms community.
Town officials emphasize that while the physical office has moved, emergency services remain fully operational and unaffected.
How to Access Police Services
Because the new administrative hub is located within a residential community, the public is not permitted to walk in or contact police directly at Givens Highland Farms. Residents should use the following protocols:
Emergencies: Always dial 911.
Non-Emergencies: Call 828-250-6670. Officers will be dispatched to meet you at your location or a safe public meeting spot.
Reports & Public Info: Use the Police-2-Citizen QR code to access wreck reports and crime information digitally.
In-Person Appointments
For administrative needs that require an in-person meeting, the department is utilizing 160 Midland Avenue (Town Hall) by appointment only:
Tow Sheets & General Questions: Contact Connie Fore at 828-419-9350 (Option #2). Appointments are held at 9:00 AM or 3:00 PM.
Property & Evidence: Contact Stacy Cox at 828-419-9361 to schedule a pickup or meeting.
The department thanks the community for their patience and cooperation as they work through these facility challenges to ensure the safety of both citizens and staff. For the latest local updates, be sure to check wnctimes.
Note: This relocation is a temporary measure while the Town Council evaluates permanent solutions for the Public Safety Building.
