Asheville -- July 25, 2026: An investigation into a shooting at an Asheville apartment complex has led to an arrest.
The Asheville Police Department confirmed that officers charged Marqua Amryie Lamar Davis, 19, Wednesday night in connection with the gunfire reported on July 5 at the Maple Crest Apartments.
Davis faces multiple charges stemming from the incident, including:
Assault with a deadly weapon
Carrying a concealed gun
Injury to personal property
According to authorities, the shooting left one person injured with a minor gunshot wound to the shoulder. The victim was transported via private vehicle to Mission Hospital for medical treatment following the event.
Investigators who processed the scene gathered physical evidence that ultimately led to identifying and charging Davis.
