The investigation began on October 8th when APD detectives responded to a report of the sexual assault of a juvenile around 8:31 a.m.
Following a thorough and extensive investigation—which involved close collaboration with the FBI, the support of Mission Hospital’s Child Advocacy Center, and the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (NCDHHS)—detectives arrested and charged the suspect on Tuesday, November 4th.
The man charged is identified as Shayrone Renard Thompson, born September 17, 1985.
