Asheville -- April 28, 2026: A late-night security breach at a downtown hotel ended in a swift arrest early Monday morning after Asheville Police Department (APD) officers intercepted a suspect on the premises.
The incident occurred just after midnight on April 27th at a hotel located in the 120 block of Patton Avenue. According to police reports, staff members alerted authorities at approximately 12:02 a.m. after discovering an intruder had forced his way into the building’s electrical room.
On-Scene Apprehension
Officers arrived on the scene within minutes of the call. Upon searching the property, they located the suspect, identified as Joseph Fuller Anderson (39). APD officials confirmed that Anderson was taken into custody without incident.
Charges and Bond
Following the arrest, Anderson was transported to the Buncombe County Detention Facility. He faces the following charges:

A magistrate issued a $200 secured bond for his release.
